FuzzyWuzzy Days is Wacca, Wacca Wonderful!!!
The theatre and spoken word side of the Irie Stylie tent is really hotting up, in fact it’s hotter than a pair of Camel’s knickers.

Sunday
On Sunday we are kicking off the Spoken word side of things with an absolute killer shot in the guise of ‘Attila the Stockbroker’, revered by many a punk and poetry fan, this guy has been rocking it in the business for some time to notable acclaim and this is just a little of what he has to say about himself:
‘I don’t mess about. I’ve got lots to say, and I’m out there saying it. To those whining head-in-the-sand types who moan ’politics has got nothing to do with music’ I have one response. ’Politics’ affects the lives of every single person on this planet. Music and words, when combined effectively, can do the same and can inspire people to take control of their lives for the better. That’s where I start from.’

After this we have the delight that is ‘Rachel Pantechnicon’ she is the creator of “Cheesegrater Leg-Iron Lion" and much more that involves ‘Elves on Shelves’ and motivational poems for animals. This lady is truly unique and is a definite must see for lovers of quirk and fairytale laughter.

The line up continues with ‘ Pint of Poetry and dash of Drama’ created by Mark Grist, (Peterborough Poet Laureate) Richard Harris and Summer Moeed, this is a night that has been established for the last two years as the place to be if you want to see the most upcoming poets and performers in Peterborough. You can get a feel for what to expect every second Wednesday of the month at the Charters Bar in Peterborough. We assure Pint of Poetry will bring a wonderful atmosphere that travels well and along with the more regular poets other festival goers will be able to perform open mic.

Next up is ‘Nick Boldock’ This guy is a performance poet who mixes comedy with politics and near-the-knuckle rhymes. He is very much for the grown-ups and does not pull any punches and the language is sometimes a touch on the fruity side. As a founder member of Hull's now notorious Renegade Writers - he sets out to banish the evil of the "poetry reading", his essence is on fun and enjoyment - bringing poetry to the masses, to people who think they don't like poetry - but go home wishing they'd heard it done like that before.
Now it’s getting heavy with the ‘Locality’ crew, this collective have been established as the place to be on the first Saturday of the month at Bar Bloc brought to you by some of Peterborough’s finest DJ's, MC's, Human Beat boxers, Break dancers and graffitists, This is some of the best underground talent around, with resident MC Mr ‘Mixy’! Beat boxer ‘Skillz’ and Dj ‘Mister Crowe’ Come down and set adrift on hip hop memory bliss!!

To get the girls back in on the act we have the new and extraordinary ‘Sophie Burrows’. She believes in Wry smilers, British summers and that deflated sense of self importance which we sometimes get. She is a singer-songwriter from Essex and she has a distinctive style which harks back to the Kinks and Kirsty Mcoll, listening to her will bring the sea shanty to your ears.

If that was not enough we have the merging of two well established acts. ‘Yanny Mac’ he was a pikey poet. He did pikey poems. It was a pikey poet kinda thing. And then he found Prozac. Now he is a Domestic Goddess and he performs poems about Domestic Goddessissicity. My new show is entitled YANNY MAC - "THE DOMESTIC GODDESS DELUSION". Yanny has hosted the spoken word tent at ‘Latitude festival’ and has dates at The Edinburgh festival and Shambala this year. He has an irreverent and welcoming style that will definitely warm ya cockles, so please come and be part of the domesticity!

Joining Yanny Mac is ‘The Librarian Girls’ who plays a mixture of soulful folk and tries to tell stories with her songs that you will relate to. It's Aussie east Coast folk with a Suffolk punch. You can see her regularly at: The Birdcage Caberet, Norwich and The Melting pot Caberet, Great Yarmouth. She has also recently played Norwich Arts Centre and as part of The Norwich and Norfolk Fringe Festival.
