The Playpen is the result of many nights and days spent dancing joyfully under the stars and inside buildings - meeting open minded party people and tasting musical novelty to its full.
As it's name suggests it's a space for playing - re-evolving to a childlike state of simplistic fun through the media of electronic dance music and culture. Many flavours and styles will be on offer over the weekend including psy-trance, breaks, house, electro, techno, drum & bass and breakcore.
We are preparing a fantastic line-up for your ears and will be presenting a beautifully decorated space courtesy of our family from the far reaches of Wales, the Indigo Children and Newfoundland Gathering team.

Tron *LIVE* (Liquid Records - Mexico)
Hailing from Mexico, Tron is an established part of the global psy-trance scene with one full length album released (Existence - Liquid Records) as well as tracks on compilations released through labels such as Bom Shanka, Free-Spirit, YSE, Psytropic, Sonic Dragon, AP records, Groove Control, Magma and Maia records!

Far Too Loud have made a huge impression on the breaks scene since their first release in 2005. They scooped the "Best Single" award at Breakspoll 2007 and have been nominated for "Best Single" and "Best Breakbeat Artist" in the Beatport 2008 wards. This summer sees them playing at such legendary festivals as Boom (Portugal), Glade (UK), Sunrise Celebration (UK), Zoom (Hungary), Sunshine (Spain), Konometsa (Finland), Connect Festival (Canada), Lifeline Dreamland (Germany) and of course Grassroots Festival 2008.

Hedflux (Sinister Recordings/Breakin' Even/Psy-Breakdown)
2008 has already been a busy year for Hedflux. The release of his first single (Music Is My Weapon - on Sinister) has taken him to Rocket Festival (Spain), onto Annie Nightingale's Radio 1 breaks show and gained him a reputation as a top up-and-coming producer of deep, techy and psychedelic breakbeat. One of the mind's responsible for the amazing psychedelic paintings that will be decorating the Playpen, Woef is also a very accomplished DJ who guarantees a stompathon with full-on psy-trance.

Carrying the distinction of breaking the world record for longest DJ mix (he mixed for 100 hours continuously!) Urb brings an interesting blend of urban music focused on drum & bass but often taking in elements of dubstep, reggae and breakcore.

Founder, promoter and Dj at Club nights Bish Bash Bosh and Avit, Dj Surj also enjoys being the only Hardcore Dj to play and be a resident for East of Englands’ legendary Atomic NRG. Dj Surj first regularly started playing out around 2000 for Bodybag, in 2002 became resident for Dreamscape until 2004, venues he has played at then included The Sanctuary Milton Keynes, Lakota Bristol and Summit Wisbech. 2008 is set to be a busy year with Surj producing his own material. You’re gonna be bouncing to many of his fresh tracks and hardcore floor breakers at this years festival.
